On 7 March 2007, a Garuda Indonesia, scheduled as a domestoc flight en route from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta to Adisucipto Airport, Yogyakarta crashed and burned into flames while landing. The aircraft involved was a Boeing 737-400. Twenty passangers and one crew member were killed. Both captain and first officer were admitted to an Indonesian military hospital.

There were 133 passangers aboard and 7 crew members. There were 112 injuries (12 fatal), 21 fatalities, and 119 survivors. The person involved in the accident was Captain Muhammad Marwoto Komar. The aircraft was registrated as PK-GZC. According to passangers, the plane shook violently before it crashed. Most passangers escaped from the burning flames, but some didn't. After the accident, the EU (European Union) banned Garuda Indonesia from operating to any European countries, due to safety reasons. Now, Garuda Indonesia is one of the 10 best airline and they are in the 8th position.
